Why I Made This
It all started when my daughter, Mui Mui, discovered the whimsical world of Sumikko Gurashi from one of her friends at school. Like me, she loves everything kawaii. Before I knew it, she quickly became obsessed with the characters, especially Ebifurai no Shippo (or as she affectionately calls it, "Ebi"), the adorable leftover shrimp tail known for its endearing personality.

Despite facing challenges with certain speech sounds, Mui Mui could effortlessly pronounce "Sumikko Gurashi," a testament to her affection for the series. She’s been asking me to make her a mini amigurumi Ebi for ages, but with so many other crochet projects on my plate, I kept putting it off.

Eventually, I found some motivation to finally make her one. Soon after, my other child, BB, wanted one too, and I couldn't resist making an extra one for the friend who introduced Mui Mui to these charming characters.
Before long, our home transformed into a mini Ebifurai no Shippo crochet workshop, filled with joy and yarn.
