These adorable amigurumi gummy bears were inspired by my daughter, who has the biggest sweet tooth in the world. She loves all things candy, including Candy Crush! So, I thought it'd be fun to crochet a treat that doesn't melt or get sticky, and that she can keep forever!

For her birthday this year, my sister-in-law got her a gummy bear lab kit. I'm not sure how much science we actually learned from it, but we definitely had a blast mixing, pouring, and taste-testing our creations. Let's be honest, they were mostly in it for the final treat!
That little experiment sparked the idea for these no-sew crochet gummy bears, and since I'm not a fan of sewing amigurumi pieces together (the fewer seams and ends to weave in, the better!), I designed this pattern to be completely no-sew. It's quick, easy, and oh-so-satisfying, just like really gummy bears!

I’m coming up with 16 sc in round 5 and not 18?
Hmm... no. You are essentially making [sc, dec, sc] and repeating that 6 times. There are only 3 stitches in that bracket. 3 sts x 6 times = 18 sts.
I came up with 16 sts on round 5 too and couldn't figure out where I was going wrong for ages. Turned out I was going sc, sc Dec, sc, sc Dec etc. Rather than sc, sc Dec, SC, sc, sc Dec, sc. If that helps anyone :)
This pattern was kind of tough to follow. Had the same issue as others where the stitch count was off from the start. Ended up with a lopsided gummy bear but kinda cute lol
The pattern has been tested by multiple testers. Which part did you find the count wrong? Perhaps I can help if you email me. Thanks!
The phrasing threw me a few times and i had to remember that sc dec was one stitch. A lot of patterns just say dec. Also the row with the arms started wrong. I think they ended up starting 3 stitches sooner. Same with the face and ears. Hopefully that helps anyone. It turned out super cute!!!and is worth pulling a couple rows and redoing them 😂 if i attempt again mb the stitches will land right
This pattern was well written and easy to follow. The comments saying otherwise is very confusing. I have only been crocheting for a year and there was nothing confusing about this and it turned out perfect. Thanks for the great free pattern!
I'm not sure if this is it but I think the reason people might be getting 16 instead of 18 is because; 1 they did the bbl then the sc it asks for including the sc in round 4 or 2 they're doing sc, sc dec, sc, sc dec. I could be wrong however, because I've only been crocheting for a few months. Might come back and add to this comment if I actually find the reason. Other than that this is a really cute pattern :3
Great pattern! Very clear and quick to work up, BUT important to note that you’re starting from the bottom not the top! I got too eager and added a nose thinking they forgot to write the nose in…. Now I have a gummy bear with an outtie belly button. LOL so just be aware you’re starting from the legs up and they did not forget to add the nose in the pattern….
I hope I'm not the only one that did an "sc, dec" every time is said "sc dec"
The video is very helpful and has the words on it as you go. I have made several and quick scrap project. can't wait to sell and also give as gifts.
Struggled through this but I'm a beginner and was still able to follow it. I ended up putting the nose after 8 sc (so I reversed the row: 8sc, bbl, 9sc), because it ended up off to the side, but I assume that's just because I have a really hard time getting those big bobble stitches even
Found no issues at all following the pattern but did have to change Round 10 to 10 sc, bbl, 7 sc (18 sts) just to center up the nose just a bit but figured that was simply because I'm a lefty crocheter. Have made a few of these now in various sizes and colors and my kids love them!
Am I allowed to sell the finished bear(s)?
Hello! Yes, you can sell the finished gummy bears as long as it's not mass produced. I only ask that you do not sell or reproduce the pattern. Thank you!
