Jellycat Amigurumi Apple Crochet Pattern

Updated on by

This crochet apple is inspired by the Amuseable Jellycat Apple. With two little brown feet, beady eyes, and a tiny smile, this sweet amigurumi apple has so much personality packed into one small project. It’s a simple crochet apple pattern that’s suitable for beginners and works up surprisingly fast, making it a fun project when you're in the mood for something quick and cute.

The legs are crocheted directly onto the apple, so there's no need to sew them on later. The stem and leaf are made separately and sewn on, but the assembly is very minimal. If you're a little more advanced, you can even try crocheting them directly onto the apple to eliminate sewing completely.

Inspiration Behind the Crochet Design

I've loved plushes for as long as I can remember, especially the soft and whimsical Amuseables from Jellycat. However, over time, I noticed their prices have made them feel more like collectibles than everyday toys. Sometimes people buy and resell them to collectors, which can drive prices even higher. That made me ask myself: Do I really need this, or could I make it myself?

Knowing how to crochet gives me that freedom. Making my own crochet plushies helps me be more mindful about consumption, and it also makes me value the creations I bring to life. I love seeing an idea in my head become a tangible, handmade toy that I can treasure or gift to someone else.

Crochet Apple Jellycat Amuseable Amigurumi

The idea for this amigurumi apple came together unexpectedly. While doom-scrolling, I came across a creator who had made their own Jellycat-inspired Apple, but as a ceramic jar. It immediately reminded me of a mini amigurumi apple pattern I had written a few years ago but never published. That little moment of inspiration made me think: Maybe it's finally time to revisit it.

So I pulled out the old notes, reworked the design, and gave it a few new details, like the tiny feet, to capture that playful Jellycat look. Because the base idea was already there, this pattern came together much faster than many of my other designs, and it was so much fun to bring to life!

This isn't my first time recreating a Jellycat-inspired design in yarn. I previously made a Jellycat-inspired birthday cake, and I've found that whimsical food amigurumi projects are especially fun to bring to life in crochet form.
