No-Sew Crochet Jellyfish Mini Amigurumi Pattern

Looking for a cute and easy no-sew crochet jellyfish amigurumi pattern? This mini jellyfish is the perfect quick crochet project for your hook!

No-Sew Crochet Jellyfish Amigurumi Pattern

Made in one piece with no sewing required, this adorable jellyfish measures approximately 8.5 cm (3.3 in) long, depending on how long you choose to make the tentacles. It’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, making it a fun little pocket-sized crochet amigurumi.

I made my jellyfish using variegated yarn, which gives it a fun mix of colors without having to change yarn throughout the pattern. But of course, you can use any yarn you like to create your own colorful collection of mini crochet jellyfish!

The Story Behind the Stitches

Lately, I’ve been having so much fun using Scheepjes Little Darling to crochet Jellycat-inspired amigurumi. I love how the finer yarn and smaller hook let me create smaller versions of these adorable designs. Along with my last order, I received a package of Scheepjes Little Darling Sprinkled Gradient, a variegated DK-weight chenille yarn to try out.

I don’t usually use variegated yarn for amigurumi because I fear the loss of control over where the color changes happen. However, I’ve found that certain types of amigurumi made with variegated yarn work particularly well. For example, sea creatures seem to be especially suited to it.

As I crocheted this little jellyfish, I started to realize there's a fun element of anticipation of when the next color change will happen! I also enjoyed the freedom of not having to worry about choosing complementary colors, which is something I don’t think I’m particularly good at!

The Sprinkled Gradient yarn does all the color coordinating for you. I love how the colors came together on this tiny jellyfish, and I think the variegated, speckled effect makes this little sea creature even more fun and unique.
