Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Place the wig on the head at Rnd 10 in the front of the head, and Rnd 33 at the back of the head. Sew the wig to the head.

  

Place the braid on top of the wig and sew it in place as shown in the photo.

Time to Put It All Together!

Sew one of each of the flowers to each side of the wig at the ends of the braid.

Sew the teeth to the front of the head centered between Rnds 30 and 29.
Use the felt fabric to cut out the shape of the eyes, using the graphics below as a guide.

Glue the black part of the eyes to the head between Rnds 23 and 18, and 9 sts apart. Glue the white part of the eyes on top of the black part. Cut a small heart shape out of black felt and glue it upside down centered between the eyes on Rnds 25 and 22. Using the sewing thread, finish securing the eyes to the head.

Using different colors of yarn, work embroidery on the face with a variety of stitches. Using Black yarn, embroider the teeth and eyelashes.

  

Attach the head to the body. Use your finger to poke a hole into the filling of the head so you can pull the neck through the opening of the head, and 3 to 4 rounds of the neck are still visible. Sew the head onto the neck of the body.

  

My Review of the Creepigurumi Book

Creepigurumi by Soledad Adirana del Pilar Iglesias Silva is a wonderfully spooky collection of 14 crochet creatures with a creepy, but cute twist. From the grim reaper to a stitched-up creepy rabbit, each pattern has a touch of dark whimsy that's perfect for Halloween, or year-round if you love the eerie aesthetic. The book includes step-by-step photos and a helpful stitch guide, making it easy to follow even if the designs look intricate.

I haven't made La Catrina myself, but I'm sharing the full pattern here on the blog so you can get a feel for the author's style.
