Blocking the Crochet Flags

I'll admit that I don't often block my crochet projects. This is due to laziness on my part. However, this is one of those few projects I decided to block because the crocheted crayon flags tend to curl up a bit on the edges without blocking.

Blocking them is easy. It just takes some time. But I did it as the last step after I added the black wavy stripes and letters.

Blocking Crochet Flags

I didn't have any blocking mats or pins. So all I did was soak the crochet flags in water, gently wring out the excess water, and lay them out on a towel for them to dry. I stretched them to the shape I wanted and made sure the edges were straight.

Inspiration Behind the Crochet Design

For a long time, I've had this vision of a colorful and playful crochet crayon banner hanging above my desk. I wanted to create a vibrant and cheerful workspace that would inspire my creativity. However, I was always waiting for the perfect colors to come together.

Luckily, Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/8 Color Packs made collecting a wide range of hues incredibly easy. With so many options, I curated a palette that perfectly captured the bright and cheerful vibe I was aiming for.
