4 Free Reward Chart Printables

| Original: September 29, 2021

Over the summer, we brought the kids to our public library and signed up for the BC Summer Reading Club. It was a great motivator for the kids to continue to read or do our "activity book" (aka. homework) every day over the summer.

BB was very driven to color in her circle each time she reads a book or worked in her activity book so that she could earn her sticker each time she completes 7 circles. I was a bit easy on her on some days, but I also wanted her to succeed too.

I had some doubts, but by the end of the summer, BB actually finished her Summer Reading Club booklet and managed to earn a medal from the library for all her hard work! She was so proud. She wanted to do more of it!

I wanted a way to keep her inspired over the regular school year and give her a goal to work towards, so I turned to Pinterest to see if I could find anything. Nothing really caught my attention, so I decided to use Canva to design some "reading charts" to keep the girls engaged.

After making one of them, it was easy to just alter the background and change the theme. I ended up with 4 different designs: sakura flowers, donuts, outer space, and woodland animals.

They fold up like a trifold brochure. I only wish I had some nicer, thicker paper to print them on. But instead, I printed each side on a separate piece of letter-sized paper and glued them together.

I put a star after every 5 dots/circles and each time they get to the star, they get a "treat". It could be something as small as a Halloween-sized candy bar or even a sticker.

They haven't finished the whole booklet yet. They are two-sided, so it will take them a while. But once they do, I gotta think of a bigger prize. You got any ideas about what I should do?

These do not necessarily need to be just for reading, these reward charts can be used for other things like toilet training, room cleaning, teeth brushing, or any other positive behaviors you want to reinforce.

If you think that these reward charts will work for you, feel free to download my template from Canva for personal use by clicking on the image. You can then change the name on the template to personalize it!
