Mini Business Card PomPoms

| Original: March 14, 2021

Not sure if you've ever been curious and just searched "clever business cards" or "business card designs" just for the heck of it, but there are some really neat ones out there!

When I was designing my business card, I knew that besides having information to visit my blog, I wanted them to also be functional as well! I searched all over the internet for inspiration and decided to go with something crafty to suit my audience's needs!

Did you know that this clever business card design can turn into a mini pompom maker?

This mini business card pompom idea was inspired by Delia Creates. I reached out to her to ask for permission to see if I could use her business card pompom maker idea when I was in the process of designing a creative business card and I was so glad that she was open to it.

Using my business card to make pom poms is easier than you think! In fact, you can probably do this with any business card, but mine has a dotted line and this tutorial to help guide you: 😉

How to make pompoms using a business card

  1. Cut a slit on the dotted lines of the business card with craft scissors.
  2. Cut a piece of yarn and slide it into the slit.
  3. Wrap yarn around the end of the card over the cut slit. The more you yarn wrap around the card, the denser your pompom will be.
  4. Using the piece of yarn that you slid into the slit earlier, cinch it around the bundle of yarn very tightly and double knot.
  5. Slide the bundle of yarn off the card. Turn it over and double-knot it again.

  1. Cut all the loops on one side, and then cut the loops on the other side. Leave the tails (the piece of yarn you used to tie the pompom) uncut.
  2. Trim the pompom all around to even it out.

Once you're done, you end up with a 1.5-2 inch shaggy pompom. If you want the pom pom to be denser, continue trimming!

It's so cute, right?

They make for cute embellishments for presents, a tiny bouquet of pompom flowers, a pom pom garland, a mini pompom wreath, etc. So many ideas!

So that's how to make pom poms using my business card! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. And if you are one of the lucky recipients of my business card one day, I hope it was easy for you to find this tutorial!
